"Colorday 2023: a day of discussion on colors, materials, and finishes between nature and artifice"

January 2024

On November 24th, in the Sala degli Specchi (Hall of Mirrors) of the Reggia di Monza (Royal Palace of Monza, near Milan) Finiture Green organized a Colorday 2023, an event promoted by Anver (Association of Industrial Coating) with the coordination of La Rivista del Colore and sponsored by various institutions, including the Reggia di Monza that hosted it and the Architects Association of Monza and Brianza. The event was dedicated to the world of CMF (colors, materials, and finishes) and the fundamental role it plays in certain sectors. Especially when it comes to surfaces used in architecture and design, companies involved in the supply chain are called upon to meet increasingly competitive demands in terms of innovation, creativity, and sustainability.

The debate, focused on the antithesis of nature vs. artifice, was animated by professionals who presented different perspectives on the reproduction of natural materials and the processes used to achieve it, with a focus on sustainability. The audience, predominantly composed of architects, engaged in the discussion.

To reinforce the topics discussed during the day, an exhibition was organized in the White Hall adjacent to the Sala degli Specchi (Hall of Mirrors) (fig. 3), allowing visitors to see, touch, and feel the surfaces. The day was made possible with the support of Cromatica-Marcegaglia, a division of Marcegaglia Steel dedicated to digital printing on steel coil, ST Powder Coatings, a Venetian company engaged in the production of thermosetting powder coatings, and Tecnosugheri, a Milanese company specializing in internal and external thermal insulation with cork.
